Blue Nails? Anemia? HELP!?

Ok I have anemia and with my research i'm pretty sure i have it and im going to the doctor for proof. My palms have been turning a bit blue at times and TODAY MY NAILS TURNED A BIT PURPLISH-BLUE. AND I have been feeling like fainting but that most likely has to do with the anemia. Oh and does this affect me exercising? HELP ME PLEASE!!! THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A WHILE!!!Blue Nails? Anemia? HELP!?
Anemia is caused by many things. The most common is iron-deficiency anemia (which im guessing you have). Iron deficiency anemia is the most common form of anemia. Iron is an essential component of hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying pigment in the blood. Iron is normally obtained through the food in your diet and by recycling iron from old red blood cells. Without it, the blood cannot carry oxygen effectively -- and oxygen is needed for the normal functioning of every cell in the body.

Basically what that means is you are not getting enough oxygen in your blood. Its very common to have cold feet or hands when you have anemia. Those are the farthest areas from your heart, so the most important (vital organs) and closest parts get it first.

If you are getting those symptoms your iron level may be very low. It will affect you during exercise because you don't have all the oxygen your blood needs. So you can tire very easily. Anemia doesn'tnt go away over night and young women can get in because of heavy periods. You need to eat iron rich foods and usually take iron supplements. Your doctor will advise you depending on how anemic you are. If you are severely anemic you may even get a blood transfusion.

PS....to dont lie the EMT~if you dont think that anemia can't cause blueness (cyanosis) in the extremities you REALLY need to review your A %26amp; P cause your information is way off base~actally scarry. :( Anemia is lack of O2 in the blood and lack of O2 can cause cynaosis~thats basic.Blue Nails? Blue in the nail beds and skin is not anemia, it is lack of oxygen getting to those tissues. Good thing your going to the doc soon.
