Why do nails turn purplish blue?

THEY SHOULD ONLY DO THIS IF THEY ARE BRUSED, I.E SMASHED BY A HAMMER BY MISSING THE NAIL. IF THEY JUST TURN THAT COULOR WITH NO SMASHING, SEE A DOCTOR.Why do nails turn purplish blue?
1. due to cngenital defects in the heart.2.Due to antimalarial drugs.3. At high altitudes.4 Shock, 5,Obstruction in Trachea (wind pipe),Cold, some lung diseases. It may be due to dimnished oxygen saturation in arterial circulation or an increased arterio-venous oxygen differeence. Why do nails turn purplish blue?
either you are cold... or you might have a heart condition where you heart isnt strong enough to pump enough blood to your extrimities... SEE A DOCTOR.
This could also be down to asthma. Lack of oxygen to your blood creates poor circulation, causing pins and needles in your arms or legs, and fingernails to go blue/purple as your blood is not circulating as it should. It is worth seeing a doctor about if you're concerned.
