My mother is experiencing black and blue skin under the fingernails. Also, nail is very soft. Any info.?

I agree with all who said go to the doctor but I did find this info on the net. I believe in being informed but I also believe in taking that information to your doctor.

Take horsetail herb and MSM for the soft nails. Eat more good protein type foods. Take a good multiple vitamin-mineral pill dailyi, and extra vitamin C with bioflavinoids for the bruising. Good luck!
Sounds like she should see a doctor. They are the only ones that can tell you for sure what's going on with your mom.





Bruising develops when small blood vessels under the skin tear or rupture, most often from a bump or fall. Blood leaks into tissues under the skin and causes the black-and-blue color. That's all the info I have for the black and blue skin.





Nails turning soft could be from prolong use of house hold cleaners.





Not really knowing your mom's history and not being a doctor it's really difficult to tell what's going on.

sometimes a blueish cast under the finger nails is a sign that there may be circulation problems, check with a doctor as soon as possible. I am not sure of soft nails or the blackness but I do know that blue may be a sign of circulation problems.
Just under the nails, or is it the whole finger? Take her to the dr.
this usually means that she is not getting enough oxygen to the blood system. she needs to see a doctor ASAP

take her to the doctor ... a while ago i was watching the news and this guy had something under or on his nail and they had to cut his finger off so it wouldnt spread through his body or something .. i really dont remember that well but take her to the doctors
