The stores are full of black nail polish, but if you don't want to buy any, as long as the polish is dark blue, you should be okay.
I think you should use a dark purple if you have it. I hope you aren't making fun of emo people. They aren't all bad. My friends are kinda that way. Good luck with your costume!
