Blue Nails? medically, what does it mean when you have blue nails?

My toe nails and my hand nails are not pink or beige or something they are this purplish blue clour. I dont know why they are like that? is this a medical condition? if so? why is it?Blue Nails? medically, what does it mean when you have blue nails?
Blue finger and toenail beds is a serious clinical symptom.

When the nailbed is pressed, it should take no longer than 3 seconds for the 'pink' to return to the nail. This is called capillary refil. The longer it takes, the poorer the circulation.

If your doctor is not aware of your 'blue nails'... you should definitely be seen by him/her ASAP.

Certain types of anemia can cause serious cirulatory problems. You may be in crisis and need to go get some meds to balance you out. This is very typical with Sickle Cell Anemia. Dont procrastinate going to get help because it can get much worse fairly quickly.

Blue nails are a serious sign that circulation is poor. NOT GOOD.Blue Nails? medically, what does it mean when you have blue nails?
You answered the question yourself. No doubt it is from the anemia.
Sometimes a lack of oxygen can cause your nails to turn a pale blue. But your lips would do the same thing. Ask your doctor.
That definetely means that you are not getting proper circulation in your extremeties.
you have a circulation problem; please see a doctor about this immediately as you could easily loose a leg or arm or both;

i am not kidding; you are not getting enough oxygen in your blood stream ... do you have asthma, COPD or diabetes?
